Our Vineyards

The Teaderman Vineyards estate covers 14 acres of the Oakville American Viticultural Area located in the heart of Napa Valley. The estate lies on the valley floor, where it enjoys cool morning fog and the riparian influence of nearby Conn Creek. A gravelly streak runs through the property, giving us a diverse mix of gravelly and clay loam soils—a lighter profile than some of our neighbors, and one that allows our wines to take on uniquely layered flavors for elegant complexity.

Our vineyard is dry-farmed for the first part of the growing season, then drip-irrigated following veraison. We manage our cordon-trained vines block by block and harvest each row at peak ripeness.

Originally, the vineyard was developed with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, all of which were sold to Robert Mondavi Winery. In 1993, we replanted the vineyard and added blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. Given the warm reception for our inaugural 2001 vintage, we decided to plant even more of our estate to Cabernet Sauvignon—but we have kept enough Sauvignon Blanc sections to keep making this much-loved wine for our die-hard fans.
